BE A PART OF THE
guitar guild
AT CAROLINE SPRINGS SCHOOL OF MUSIC
All students enrolled in our guitar lessons at Caroline Springs School of Music are encouraged to join our well renowned guitar guild. APAC business insiders have awarded us Melbourne's Best Music School 2016 and our Guitar Guild is integral to our success.
A variety of students, all ages from beginner to advanced, participate in our guitar guild. We recommend a grade one to two ANZCA level to join). Our ensemble performs regularly throughout Melbourne at various festivals and events.

Led by our school principal; Brendan Hains (F.Dip.A) Our guitar guild participants show palpable improvements in their musicianship, particularly in timing, pitch recognition and improvisation skills.
The guild performs guitar instrumental music at a wide variety of events in Caroline Springs, surrounding suburbs and throughout greater Melbourne.
Our younger guitarists greatly benefit by performing and rehearsing with our more advanced guitarists and teachers who run the circle. We are very fortunate to have David Pittaway involved as our most senior member of the group. David has a wealth of international performance experience with Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists.
Repertoire is drawn from a variety of sources, jazz standards, pop instrumental arrangements, Christmas carols and original compositions make up the majority of our performance material. Students perform various harmony parts in each piece and all are encouraged to take improvised solos when appropriate. Being a part of our guitar guild is great fun (our fast growing numbers testifies to that). Students are all encouraged to suggest repertoire for the group to learn. We have large group repertoire and smaller groups of solo, duo, trio and quartet performance material. Students are welcome to form smaller groups to perform any additional repertoire at our regular concerts and events.
All material is performed on acoustic guitars (acoustic/electric for bigger venues). Correct technique, posture and performance etiquette are fostered at all times.
Some of our regular performances include:
*Parliament House and Immigration Museum conferences.
*Sunshine Lantern Festival
*Cancer Council Relay for Life - Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve.
*Creekside College Carnival
*Springside College Arts Fair
*Brookside Fair
*Caroline Springs School of Music mid year and end of year concerts.
We also regularly visit Phoneix soundhttp://www.phoenixsoundstudios.com/
to produce our own CD's and give students a chance to see how industry professionals record their music.
We are very proud of our young musicians in the guitar guild as great ambassadors of our school. You are all welcome to join at anytime. Call or speak to someone in administration for more information. You can also check some of our guitar circle performances on our youtube channel.
